What they do
This California Sea Grant project (R/HCEOPC-14, 2020 to 2022) created a cultured gametophyte bank for bull kelp from California North Coast populations, explicitly for conservation and restoration rather than commercial supply. It is the closest existing thing in California to a seaweed seed bank in the germplasm sense.
